Fans are still buzzing following the BET Awards on June 25, 2023. One of the major storylines popping out of the award ceremony concerned Chief Keef, a rapper who was once banned from the awards for a decade starting in 2013. Following the finish of that ban, Chief Keef performed eventually night's rite, which led many of us to marvel why the rapper was once banned in the first place.

The reasons for that initial ban is probably not completely clear to Chief Keef both, however given his appearance at the BET Awards ultimate night, it seems like he is willing to let bygones be bygones.
Why did Chief Keef get banned from BET?
Following BET's preliminary announcement that Chief Keef have been banned from BET, there was various confusion round the reason for the ban. No explanation why was once to start with provided, which led many to think that Chief Keef's violent lyrics and his NSFW social media posts led the community to its place. In 2014, though, the rapper supplied some additional main points on why he were banned, pronouncing it used to be as a result of he didn't appear on 106 & Park.

Chief Keef isn't identified for being the most reliable act in track. He famously bailed on a video shoot with 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa that was once intended to be for his own debut single. He obviously doesn't do anything else the doesn't feel like doing.

Chief Keef has blasted BET on Twitter.
During his ban from BET, Chief Keef spent quite a lot of time blasting the network and announcing that he didn't want them. He wrote that if he attended the awards, he would be sure to purpose problems.
“I’mma let y’all know presently. If we pass to the BET Awards, chains gettin’ took, b---hes gettin’ f--ked. Baby mama’s gettin’ f--ked, still pregnant. All of that,” he wrote on Twitter. Thankfully, it doesn't look like any of that came about when he went to the 2023 Awards.
After he blasted the network on social media, others weighed in to suggest that Chief Keef's loss of mainstream success have been at least in part a result of his ban from BET. In 2016, Bow Wow showed that Keef's ban had had a job in the total degree of luck he used to be able to score.
