Fire Island is a barrier island off the south shore of Long Island, New York, and the island is home to two LGBTQ-centric hotel communities, Fire Island Pines and the adjacent Cherry Grove, and a whole lot of historical past.
Fire Island is an “essential enclave” for LGBTQ populations.
