In the Discovery Channel reality TV sequence Naked and Afraid, two strangers are left on my own in the desert without a clothes, food, water, or safe haven for 21 days. They are allowed to deliver one helpful item with them, like a fire starter or a machete. Other than that, they are on their own. (Well, aside from for the camera workforce and manufacturers.)
Network: Discovery Channel
First Episode Date: June 23, 2013
Is Naked and Afraid real?
Naked and Afraid is actual in the sense that the survivalists wouldn't have any food, safe haven, or clothing, and they're expected to continue to exist for 3 weeks on their very own. However, it's worth noting the production workforce is actually following them around, and they are never utterly on my own in the case of an emergency. Not to say, the footage is edited after the truth. There have also been stories of producers giving one of the survivalists a tampon when she used to be on her duration. So you'll be able to decide for yourself if that makes it any much less "real."
