'Megan Is Missing' is banned in New Zealand.

The movie was once banned in New Zealand in October 2011, because of its graphic depictions of sexual and bodily violence, along with its objectifying depictions of underage ladies.  

The controversial horror garnered blended responses over the years. Some condemn it for its worrying use of sexually-charged imagery and for its ghastly scenes depicting rape and torture. Others imagine it functions as a cautionary tale.
