Per Newsweek, the show took inspiration from a series of Anchorage Daily News investigative reports called "Lawless," which examined Alaska's alarming rate of sexual violence.
Hilary told the Newsweek: "I knew about the lacking, murdered indigenous ladies, I knew about that. But the tale was once simply [surprising]."
She added: "To me, I knew about that, and but so many folks have no idea about it and it's happening at the moment, proper this 2d, and no person's doing anything else about it, it is horrific and something needs to be finished."
