Matt James' marriage and relationship history have come into query because the star takes on a newfound central role for this season of 'The Bachelor.'
As the brand new season of The Bachelor unfolds, Matt James appears to be hitting his stride because the display's latest male contender, but what was once his relationship lifestyles like before starring within the hit fact show?
Reflecting on his reviews throughout the time he lived in New York City, Matt has been particularly candid concerning the concepts of marriage, relationship, and romance as a whole. He painted a transparent image of his romantic successes and defeats associated with dwelling a bachelor way of life within the Empire State.
Instead of marriage, Matt was once excited about his career.
Before he was the lead of Season 25 of The Bachelor, Matt was as single as could be. However, his choice to stay a real-life bachelor prior to becoming a member of the ABC franchise was reputedly out of monetary necessity, not a reluctance thus far.
During a recent appearance at the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Matt elaborated on his lackluster relationship history while living in New York, "My dating history in New York [was] slim to none because I was broke. Like, I didn’t have any money, so I couldn’t take anybody out on a date. New York is expensive, so just by default, I wasn’t doing a lot of dating."
The truth star went on to add that while in the city he was once extra "focused on the charitable work" for his nonprofit group, ABC Food Tours, which he was once closely engaged in at the time. Due to this, he left the possibility of relationship on the wayside for fairly a while.

That conviction has apparently maintained as Matt navigates his role because the lead in this season of the hit truth program. Despite never having been in love ahead of, the actual estate dealer maintains that being on the show has afforded him an opportunity to explore that aspect of himself more often than ever earlier than.
On letting potential courters into that previously shut-out side of himself, Matt advised the podcast hosts, "I put it all out there because I need them to know who I am, where I’m coming from, and what I’ve been through for them to make an assessment on me. I’m courting them, but they’re [also] courting me."
