Warning: The following article has spoilers for And Just Like That...

The iconic sequence Sex and the City was all about 4 strong, sex-positive ladies. However, the nude scenes nearly at all times left the ladies exposed (with a couple of male rear ends thrown in for good measure). Meanwhile, the HBO Max reboot And Just Like That...featured no longer one, but two full-frontal scenes in a single episode.

We could not assist however marvel: Is nudity of any kind important in a show that is all about celebrating female empowerment? Did the two full-frontal scenes in Episode 8 serve the whole story in any manner? Let's ruin this down.

The first full-frontal moment if truth be told opens the door to conversation.

One of Episode 8's primary full-frontal instigators is none rather than Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler). Charlotte (Kristen Davis) and Harry are just about to interact in a second of marital loving, entire with a shot of Harry's circle of relatives jewels, when their daughter Lily (Cathy Ang) walks in on them. Naturally, Charlotte panics and shuts the door in her teenaged daughter's face. She comes up with an excuse that she was once just checking Harry for most cancers.

However, that one extremely awkward second if truth be told opened the door for Charlotte to talk to her daughter about intercourse — except for that doesn't pass smoothly either. Charlotte was once determined to make her family a sex-positive one, however she cannot lend a hand however be anxious when she discovers that Lily has been posting moderately provocative footage on Instagram. (She's best 16 in spite of everything!)

After a battle, Lily and Charlotte make up. When Charlotte asks her if she has any questions on sex, Charlotte naturally feels relieved when Lily asks if she found any cancer on Harry. If Lily in point of fact did purchase Charlotte's excuse, then she isn't as sexually active as Charlotte could have initially assumed after discovering the pictures.

So, used to be it essential for Harry to position it all out there for this conversation to occur? Not essentially. However, it indubitably goes back to the age-old argument: If women need to be nude onscreen, so should males. Charlotte did strip down a good quantity in Sex and the City, so was this a matter of fair play? (Evan Handler's Instagram bio cheekily reads, "Highbrow/lowbrow sometimes nudist television star.")

Meanwhile in Carrie-land...

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) finds herself in the presence of the other full-frontal instigator in Episode 8. Poor Carrie had been feeling like an previous girl after all of her encounters with her younger, stylish neighbor Lisette (Katerina Tannenbaum). In one scene, Carrie knocks on Lisette's door with a field full of freshly baked brownies. A muscular man (Corey Saucier) opens the door, clad simplest in a towel. "We don't eat sugar," he tells Carrie.

A moment later, Carrie by accident drops the box and thriller no-sugar man unintentionally drops his towel. And Just Like That... uses this second to further signify that Carrie has changed. Rather than write one thing sassy about the second afterward in the episode, Carrie bolts the second one she sees no-sugar guy's pride and pleasure.

If anything, either one of those moments felt awkward for the characters and the fans. The one girl who would've increased the awkwardness into a series of saucy, hilarious comments is unfortunately away in London.
